Offering passport services in the Capital city of India, New Delhi: Regional Passport Office Delhi was established in the year 1954. It was one of the first passport offices in India to be established. The passport office is located at Trikoot, HUDCO Building, Bhikaji Camaji Place in New Delhi. Regional Passport Delhi has a jurisdiction over all of Delhi and few places adjacent to Delhi which include Gurgaon, Rewari, Faridabad, Sonepat, Jhajjar, Rohtak, Mewat Nuh and Mohindergarh.
The Passport Office of Delhi comes under the direct control of the CPV Division or Consular Passport and Visa Division under the Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India. The regional passport office Delhi works from Monday to Friday between 09:30 am to 06:00 pm. The passport office is closed in public holidays. The regional passport office Delhi is headed by Regional Passport Officer and is assisted by one Dy Passport Officer, four Assistant Passport Officers and thirty seven Superintendants and additional staff including UDC and LDC employees. A total of 161 employees work at the Regional Passport Office Delhi.
The Passport Office at Delhi is a well coordinated office with token systems to facilitate people. Applicants first have to take tokens in order to enter the passport office building. This restricts the number of people entering the building. Senior citizens, who are above the age of 65 years do not have to take any tokens for entering the building.
Passport office Delhi had introduced an Interactive Voice Response System or IVRS to provide information to applicants who want to know the status of their passport application. Delhi Passport Office had set up two PSKs or Passport Seva Kendras at Shalimar Place and at Gurgaon. With these offices passport applicants can obtain all services related to passport from these Kendras. The PSK at Shalimar Place caters to the districts of Sonepat, Rohtak, North-west Delhi, Outer Delhi, West Delhi and North Delhi. Whereas the PSK at Gurgaon provides services to passport applications originating from Gurgaon, Faridabad, Rewari, Mahendergarh, Nuh, Palwal, Dwarka, Chatterpur, Mahipalpur.

Passport application can be submitted in both online and physically, at the convenience of the applicant. While submitting the application, the payment can be made in cash. Payment for the application can also be made with the Demand Draft by providing the Demand Draft number on the application.
The proofs that an applicant must submit along include
- Proof of Address
- Proof of date of birth,
- Proof of Residence,
- An identity document issued by state government, central government, statutory body, PSU can also be included as well.
For reissue of passport, the applicant must submit the following documents, which include
- Old Passport in original, self attested photocopy of first 4 and last 4 pages, ECR or ECNR.
- Proof of Identity in accordance with the annexure-B wherever applicable
- Proof of change in address, if any
- Certificate of Marriage, in case of name of spouse not being mentioned in the old passport
New Passport can be issued with 36 pages which is valid for 10 years at a cost of Rs.1000
New Passport can be issued with 60 pages with a validity of 10 years at a cost of Rs. 1500
Duplicate Passport with 36 pages and 60 pages can be issued if the original passport is lost, stolen or damaged at Rs. 2500 and Rs. 3000 respectively.
